Pilus & Perithecium

Pilus is what one bacterium uses to copulate with another. The aroused touch, in contact with its partner, will incite conjugation, allowing a mixing of fluids & exchange of instruction.

Perithecium is one of several types of fruiting bodies of the phylum Ascomycota. Conjugation is facilitated by the ostiole, a small pore atop the amphora-shaped sac of burgeoning spores.

Like the ant, philosopher & funnel weaver, they benefit from desires that get realized in the presence of pores.
